If the iPhone was on tmo I'd take it over the G1 anyday. I like the G1 and will probably get more used to it in the next coming days.
The iPhone just seems to be better laid out. The audio and video are seamless. The browser is much better than the G1 with multitap and being able to turn phone for lanscape. Mail works great. Syncing is the best part. You can put basically everything you have on your computer into it. I love that all my bookmarks are a click away.
That's not saying I haven't had my problems with it. I'm on my third one. Att sucks. I've had to restore it more than a handful of times, however it is a piece of cake putting everything back on. The phone is great at playing games, but I just hate and can't rely on the service.
I have both services, one for work. I will be dropping att, no matter how good the iPhone gets.
I can do both... well soon enough
Dont get me wrong I text while driving ALOT and would like a one handed way to type. I like to have that keyboard when Im on here or writing something in length. I came from a BB and was about to go to the iphone when my Tmo contract was up, but the g1 gave me an option. Just seemed easier to wait for SW to make a virtual keyboard then to not have an option for one at all IMO. 12 days to return it and im pretty sure thats not going to happen
Im happy
i don't think thats a fair comparison. the iphone changed the game. you had mad companies trying to put out phones to compete with it. now with all these touch screen phones. newer ones have to be cheaper because there are more on the market. the reason why iphone itself came down the way it did. trust me if g1 had came out instead of the iphone a year and a half a go, g1 would not have went for 179. probably wouldn't of gone for 600 either. apple had the apple brand to back it up.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Well of course. I respect the IPhone. I would be the 1st in line is Steve Jobs decided to launch IPhone through all cell phone service.
If it wasn't for the IPhone, who knows if G1 is here today.
But I am glad that I waited long enough not to switch to AT&T.
I am still with T-Mobile, I have a G1, fast 3g speed, and an open source phone that will only get better and better every month.
