talked my friend into returning his iphone for the G1 today, he had never even seen the G1 before but he went for it and he loves it, says even without all the apps in the AMP yet it's already better than his iphone was as far as functionality.

1st gen iphone to G1 and I got to say, the G1 is SO much easier and more comfortable to use. Wouldn't go back to iPhone at all.

and not everyone has a brain apparantly
I'm still waiting on a response as to why itouch sales are in the toilet......
and half of the things you say don't even make sense.

not everyone wants at&t service -There is a reason for that
not everyone wants only 16gb of space - iphone comes in 8/16gb; itouch 8/16/32gb
not everyone want a phone plus music in one if they are heavy music listeners(battery life) - so they would rather buy an itouch and an iphone? I don't think there's anyone alive who has both. Hence the exact argument I am making.
not everyone likes at&t coverage - there's a reason for that
not everyone wants to buy a phone to experience touch- how is that an argument helping a phone completely based on touch?
not everyone like the ipod-like physique as a phone- again, how is this helping either case, seeing as how the iphone and itouch look exactly the same?
not everyone wants to buy a phone to have a top of the line portable browser - I can't tell if you're arguing for or against the iphone
not everyone likes at&t service plans - I think you've said this already

My whole point is, name one person who has both an itouch and an iphone. NO ONE, because its the same class of electronic device. Those that buy an itouch, who also want a phone, by the iphone. Those that have the iphone, wouldn't buy the itouch.

Should I get some crayons and draw you a picture??? Please give me something more intellectually valid to argue against.

    you made my point

for instance blackberry users arent going to use their blackberry for music, you lose

some people want to expereince touch, and not have a phone , you lose again

They are built the same but you arent holding a ipod touch to your ear, and itouch isnt the correct term little one

not everyone wants to buy a phone to have a top of the line portable browser - I can't tell if you're arguing for or against the iphone
Not even wasting my time on this one

not everyone likes at&t service plans - I think you've said this already
service and service plans are 2 different things, if you were smart enough you would know this

and if ipod touch sales were in the toilet, they would have never released a 2nd generation
    so weak, please come again..

2nd gen is what is affected. The 3g iphone came out AFTER the 2nd gen ipod touch, and as soon as it did, sales decreased. It's a fact, google it.

The G1 comes in 1/2/4/8/16, and eventually 32gb. I'm not sure what your argument is there.

I had a Blackberry and I did use it for music, as do most of the people I know with BB's.

I'm still not sure what you're arguing. I'm arguing that the ipod touch (excuse me, I'm not an apple fanatic, so I used the wrong terminolgy) is too close to the iphone in class, hence the reason no one owns an ipod touch AND an iphone. You have yet to prove me wrong.

Some of your arguments prove me right. "Some people want to experience touch and not the iphone"....isn't that what I've been saying all along?

People want one or the other, not both, THEREFORE the electronic devices are almost in the same class. The only diff is phone capabilities. My buddy who has an itouch, wanted an iphone. So he was going to sell his touch, because there is no point to having both. Now he's selling the touch cuz he just bought a G1.

Like I said I'm not saying the iphone/touch are bad devices, but they are meant to be in two seperate classes of electronics. One is a phone, the other is a multimedia player, but because they are so close to being the same device, sales are being affected. Please don't start being childish, do your research, and come back with some grown up and intelligent to say that will add something to this discussion. So far you're just saying the same thing over and over, with nothing new or no facts coming to the table. It's like arguing with a child because I hurt the feelings of your precious device.

FACT: ipod touch sales have gone down since the release of the 3G iphone.

run to google to solve all my problems! yay!

listen up kid, if you think the ipod touch is losing business and harming apple you are mistaken, at the end apple is making profit either way

now dont try to come off as mr.big head honcho knows it all, because you know SQUAT about apples marketing, but what I do know, is when apple makes a mistake they discontinue the product almost right away
but wait, theres a second generation, even commercials all over tv about the ipod touch
    please kid
there's is reason steve jobs is rich and you arent

FACT: ps2 sales have gone down since the release of ps3

what are you trying to prove? nothing, keep it moving

Had the iphone for the past 6 months. prior to that was a blackberry guy. I like the gap this G1 bridges and I love it.

With that one statement you proved my point exactly. PS3 takes the place of PS2. It's the same class of electronic device. An upgraded product. Similar to the touch vs. iphone.

Bring me some kind of facts, or nothing at all. Ipod touch and the iphone eat at eachother's sales. You still have yet to prove me wrong with any kind of facts. Do any kind of search for ipod touch vs. iphone and you'll pull a huge amount of people arguing about it. WHY DO THEY COMPARE PRODUCTS IF THEY ARE IN DIFFERENT CLASSES??? They shouldn't be compared. This is the problem. One is a phone, one is a multimedia device.

"apple makes a mistake they discontinue the product almost right away"
Did they discontinue the 1st gen iphone, because releasing that so early was a HUGE mistake. That thing had so many problems.

And judging by your lack of typing skills and punctuation skills, I'm going to assume you are in highschool. No way any real adult with any type of education would be typing the way you do. Anyone knowledgeable about anything would be more fluent in english. Judging from your posts, you don't seem to have any technical knowledge whatsoever. I would be curious as to what you do for a living. Maybe that would shed some kind of light on your experience with business or anything concerning electronics.

Again, it's like arguing with a child.

they actually did discontinue the 4GB model of the iPhone, once again proving that you are just talking out of your

and NO how about YOU bring me some sourced facts, asking me when you have not yet

its really hard to argue against someone so hardheaded like yourself

let me ask you something, sales aside, if you were in charge of apple, you would NOT release a ipod with TOUCH??????? you would force everyone who just wants a music player, to buy a phone also????????

do you know there are millions of people who just want a MULITMEDIA DEVICE and not a PHONE

DO YOU? IF YOU WERE HEAD OPERATION OF APPLE YOU WOULD BE FINED, BANNED, FIRED AND KICKED TO THE STREETS

wether sales are eating eatchother or not, APPLE IS STILL SEEING MAJOR PROFIT OFF IPHONE AND IPOD TOUCH

either way, as a businessman, YOU FAIL
sure they might lose some iphone sales, but not REALEASING A IPOD TOUCH IS BASICALLY MONEY OUT THERE THATS NOT BEING MADE, and its not even like apple had to do some extra work to release the ipod touch, all they HAD TO DO WAS TAKE THE IPHONE AND STRIP THE PHONE! THERE YOU HAVE IT! MILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF EXTRA $$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!
at the end its apple, they dont care if the devices are similiar, THEY WANT MORE money

Im not even majoring in business and I can tell you that YOU FAILED

your time is up child, go back to class
