I think you can just deny the order when it comes in, and you will get refunded (read that somewhere when they were answering people who wanted white phones)
I "preordered" my G1 phone on October 7 so I am supposed to receive it on or before November 10. What does preorder mean to everybody? That I am going to get it together with or before it comes on sale to the general public, right? Well, the phones are on sale today at my local T-mobile stores. I just called and they have plenty in stock. T-mobile will not let me cancel my preorder to purchase one at the store. How unfair is that? It makes no sense whatsoever!! Is that how they treat their loyal customers?![]()

Correct, I can refuse the package when they deliver it but that does not help me. When I preordered, I preordered on my cell phone number. In order to purchase one at the store, I have to get a new number and pay $299.
Just tell them you wan to cancel your order, & then wait a day & go into the store... How could they stop that? They cant force you into still ordering when they haven't even sent the phone out yet. I just wouldn't say anything about it when you eventually go into the store.
Wow eco, way to be harsh...
Anyway, to the OP, the pre-orders were always while supplies lasted. infact, they upped their original order of phones and still didn't have enough. unfortunately, they had to make a cutoff date and make a 2nd shipment. sorry you didn't make it into the first batch.
to purchase in the store u have to pay cash up front and any online or cust discounts you wont get i had a friend to this morning to a store and pay 350.00 when she was gonna order online it would of cost her 300.00 so to order online u get a lil xtra discount and u dont have to pay upfront
You were only cheated if they didn't inform you like everyone else that if you preordered your phone after october 3 that you would be getting the phone by Nov 10. Personally I think that is crap but it is what it is. This issue is all over the net. Good luck with it...
