nop you have to be root, and you have to change some files ^^
Hi there,
For about 2 weeks now I own a T-Mobile G1 and I'm quite happy with it. My only problem is the following: I live in Romania, where the G1 isn't sold yet by any major mobile operator, so I had to purchase my G1 from the internet, which ended up in receiving a handset built for the german market. Everything is all right with it, except for the physical keyboard, which has a (semi-)german layout, meaning the Z and Y characters are switched between (so it is a QWERTZ instead of a QWERTY layout).
My question is: is there a way to change the mapping of these 2 keyboard letters, without rooting my phone and changing some configuration file?
Thanks.

Hi there. I'm back, after having rooted my G1. Can anyone advise now what do I have to do in order to change the keyboard layout?
