Well, for those of us who don't have T-Mo 3G yet, I guess that's a real big hinderance there, huh?

In fact there is a way to tether your G1. I don't know if this is to late but I found a site that describes how to do it. Now, it is a very, um, intricate? process and is really only worth it if you REALLY need it. So, that in a way solves 2 problems at once, if you need it, it's there, but due to the annoying process you have to go through to get internet, it'll keep people from overloading the network, or at least one would hope, guess it depends on how desperate one is... anywho, the site is: http://g1-tether.blogspot.com/.
It tells you where to get the app/software and how to install it, you need to scroll down a bit till you get to the disclaimer to find the instructions, the first half is just talk about the 'speculation' of the tethering app. Anywho, enjoy?

but $100 for cable is way to much, epecially for comcast. get insight or something with your cable provider that gets you phone tv and internet for that price and stop wasting other peoples phone bandwidth.
Clearwire! It's awesome, and it only about $25 - $45 a month (depending on the plan you get). Unless of course you live out in the middle of nowhere... like me... bastards, but I do use it a lot, at... um.. work.. and school and sitting in star bucks or denny's while doing homework. I think the wireless card will run you a bit more, cuz your actually paying for the hardware, but anywho, yeah. and they have a 3 day trial if you've never tried them before, so i would say give it a shot, if you don't like it /shrug, oh well. Damn english class... making me unconciously write long paragraphs.... ok, back to work!!

I used that method on my Netbook but it still doesn't make the G1 work as a wireless wifi point.

That's what I'm waiting for so I can use my PSP to access my PS3 at home from anywhere. Hopefully something like that can be made to work with a router like other operating systems.
