Buying G1 from Ebay

I am buying a G1 from Ebay. The seller claims the phone is still in warranty. If i have problems with the phone will i be able to send it back to tmobile? Also could I register for insurance for the phone?

It's not like Apple and iPhone. You can legally unlock the phone, so HTC and t-mobile will cover it. I'm sure they will let you buy insurance for it.
I gave my sister a G1. She called t-mobile to get the unlock code and replacement battery using her own account.

speaking of apple and iphone lo, i tryed to go get a replacement 3g iphone and i have tmobile they said they cant even work on the phone unless they have the att sim card

you can get warrenty from htc. but i doubt tmobile is going to give you insurance for the phone. cause you do have to get it in 14 days after you purchase the phone, but never the less, give tmobile a call and see what they can do about it.

iPhone is sold exclusively with AT&T service in the US, what did you think when you bring it there with a t-mobile sim card? Unlocking = void warranty, Apple's rule.
My sister told the "Apple genius dude" at Apple store she's from another state and she left her sim card in another phone. He gave her a brand new one.
