    Unhappy Button problem

My G1 has an unusual problem, and one that I couldn't find anyone else has suffered from via the search.

My G1 is rooted, running donut on CyanogenMod 4.1.11.1. It has never run so well, and when I updated to this mod it's been quicker, very few issues, and I was very happy with it.

Then I downloaded the "Bluetooth File Transfer" app - and all was still OK. I actually never got round to using it, as before I had an opportunity, the phone started hanging and I had to remove the battery to reboot it and get it working again (only for it to crash again). So I removed the app, and the phone is 'almost' back to how it was. It's stopped crashing, and is as responsive as it was before.

However, there is still one thing. The two buttons to the left of the ball (phone and home buttons) have stopped working. I can use the home and power buttons to get into the recovery, so the buttons physically work, but when the phone is running, they no longer function. So when I press the 'phone' button, it doesn't bring up the contacts list, and when I press 'home' it doesn't take me to the home screen.

I tried rerunning the upgrade to 4.1.11.1, but no difference.

Anyone else had a similar problem, and any suggestions on how to sort it. I'm guessing a wipe and clean install will sort it, but I want to do that as a last resort.

Apologies. It seems to be a common problem, no idea why it didn't show results when I searched earlier.

Well, I tried all the advice that I've found (Anycut and run the setup wizard, file_permission in the console, etc.) - no joy. So I wiped and updated again. It worked fine.

Then I restored from the nandroid backup - and that brought all my data and settings back, but brought the problem back.

So I read what had been said about the setup wizard, and reinstalled the "Bluetooth File Transfer" app - and BINGO! All is well in the world. For now anyway.

I'll see if it starts crashing again, if not, then it's looks like it's all sorted. Thanks to those who'd helped people in the past with this, it helped me find my solution.

Still not working properly. Not crashing, but the LED isn't working now, and notifications seem to be hit and miss.

Looks like I'll have to do a full wipe and start from scratch again...sigh.

...hold that. I've just uninstalled the app again, rebooted and fingers crossed - it's all looking good. I think....

(Yes, I do realise that I've been talking to myself, but it's helped)
