I've been web browsing a helluva lot with my G1. Noticing some difficult areas and trying to come up with techniques to improve on them.
One thing I was having a bit of an issue with it there's no way to kinda "tab" up/down a lengthy page w/o opening the screen and doing that spacebar/shift-spacebar shortcut.
(wish we could assign the buttons to do that- that was sweet on the Sidekick)
So anyway, over time I kinda developed this touch-scroll technique that might come in handy for some
If I wanna move down a page fast, I do a high speed flick of the finger, as I'm sure you've done- it gets the page flying by pretty quick.
But often you'll go past where you want to be- here's the trick:
flick your finger, get the page scrolling real fast and then just TAP.
Its like INSTANT BRAKES![]()
WOW!!! didn't know that...
howbout using the magnifying glass!!![]()

the magnifying glass seems to perform differently depending on if you have that "auto layout" setting on or off.
with it off, you can hold the zoom button down and itll just keep zooming in and when you let it go, you'll be right where you wanna be
but with it on, you can zoom in the same way, but when you let go, android auto-laysout the page, and often you are NOT where you thought you were gonna be >
