this bein my 1st thread here ... i did like 2 start off with thankin every1 tht has contributed 2 this site in keepin, those ppl who r really bcomin ANDROID fanatics, updated ...

the 1st thing on ma mind yestday mornin i woke up was 2 get ma hands the much awaitd G1 ... so i head out 2 the nearest T-mobile store ...

[ a brief intro bout myself ... im an international student @ san diego ] ...

whn i went ther i was greeted by this lovely, pretty lookin sales-babe ... she showd me the handset n she was goin on bout how 2 go bout the phone n all [even though i knew EVERYTHING bout the phone, thanx 2 u guyz ... i didnt wanna stop her , so just smiled n nodded along] ...

i was all set 2 buy it ... thn she ran ma SSN 2 chk the credit historyy ...
me bein kinda new 2 this country hadnt gottn any credit ... so she said tht i cant get the phone on discount n tht if i had 2 buy it thn it did cost me $339.99 ... i was like WTF ... was really disappointd ... i xcused myself n tried talkin 2 a few of ma friends bout the same n how 2 go bout it ... thn a min later she came up2 me n askd me if i wuld buy the phone INSTANTLY, then she was gonna make a deal by offerin it 4 $179.99 without a contract ...
n man culd she c a smile on ma face r wht ... thn i said OO YEAH i sure WILL ...

i was actually perplexd by tht offer , coz i do knw how difficult it is 2 get outta contract n ppl wuld b dyin 2 do tht 4 free ... n here she was, offerin me the xact opposite ... i was so confusd tht i askd her sooo many questions n was confirmin tht it was 4 real n there was NO CATCH behind it ... finally she convincd me [actually the G1 did , but anywayz ... hehe] n told tht i culd get back in2 contract once i get my credit history up ...

sooo here i am with ma G1 in ma hands ... n man is this phone SEXY r wht ... phew ...
I LOVE this phone ... but the 1 thing which i hate bout this n am sure gonna hate 4ever, is the BATTERY performance ... the battery drains out really really really fast ...
with the GPS, Wifi, maps, compass n all ... i get it ... but HTC culd hve [shuld hve] done better ... coz i feel it is very dissappointin not 2 use the full potential of the G1 ALL THE TIME ...



PS: if any1 of u feel tht thers some evil scheme behind her givin me this kinda offer soo easily ... plz do let me knw guyz, i wuld b grateful ...

That is a very good point....How are you going to fully enjoy the G1 without any of the features being active

Also its soo not fair how I've been a customer for years and paid $299 but all wells im happy !

anyway ... i was only tryin 2 get the CONTENT out there as fast as i culd n not worry 2 much bout my CHAT/SMS LINGO r whtver u wanna call it ...

i guess i 4got 2 add this " I HAVE ALL THE FEATURES, zero compromises there " ... its not like i came outta tht store with just the handset :P lol ... got the 300faves voice plan ($39.99) n $24.99 data plan ... n have 2 say 3G is fast n quite reliable as far as ive tested till now in SD ...

You have a voice plan? Are you on flexpay perhaps?
