Default best application to track a lost phone: pintail or GPS tracker

So I have read several threads regarding lost phones, I called TMO once and they couldnt help when I asked about my friends stolen G1. I heard that some of the best options are Pintail and GPS tracker. has anyone had any experience with any of these or other ones available? what are the pros and cons on each application? I heard GPS tracker might drain your battery. I guess what everyone is looking is to pinpoint the location of your phone when is lost so you can get to the location and try to retrieve it.

I have gps tracker... Its very good, and you can set every how long it attempts go track its location. This way the battery wont get killed. The downside is that if you are in a building when it tries to get gps lock, it fails and you get no pin point. So easy solution would be to get WiFi or Network location, which are not very acurate bu still better than not having any location.

I saw there is an app that does something similar with the gps but only when stolen mode is activated online, plus it tells you what simcard number is in the phone so you can find out who stole it, not only where it is. Im not sure what its called tho... anybody know?

I have GPS Tracker and really like it. I set mine to check every 121 seconds so the GPS doesn't stay on all the time and you can Text message your phone to turn it on and off.

My wife likes it because I 4wheel a lot in the mountains and sometimes I'm in range and sometimes I'm not. So she can send a text message to turn it on and when my phone comes in range it will get it and update its location as long as there is edge in the area. If there is no edge in the area it will que up the locations until it can send out a message.

Heres one I did a while back and remember I only had it set to take a GPS shot every 2minutes.
