Battery Life is Horrible On The G1

I love the G1 and I'm happy I got it, however the battery life is absolutely horrendous.

Did you properly charge it when you got it....if not you kill the battery life....

yea, just turn off gps when not using it.. it'll help alot

I charge it for 4 hours before I even turn it on.

3 ways you can save battery life.

-Turn off 3G if your not browsing
-Turn off GPS
-Lower screen brightness

unfortunately...a lot of the cool apps are gps dependent!

I understand but unfortunately there will be some trade offs. I would be nice if in the near future we could have more control over the power options of the phone. Like turning off 3G if the screen is not lit up or if you could set it to sync only every few mins instead of haveing "Push" always on.

Am starting to miss my Tmobile dash, i had control over such things...

you don't have the option of turning on/off gps/wifi/3g? thats a BIG problem if so...
