Battery cover....flimsy??

I feel like its not as secure or flush to the backing. When you type or hold the phone, you can feel it slapping against the body of the G1. Anyone else feel that? Near the camera button, you can see the gap isnt secure.

The only problem I had with my battery cover was when I first attempted to take it off, it was kind of stuck on. I had to slide my finger down the crack to pry it open. Other than that, I have had no other issues.

Yeah i agree with it being flimsy...i thght i would snap the thing in two when i first took it off...

You think you're bad with your g1 n3twork?? I'll be in your league soon enough! Its on its wayyyyyyyyyyyyy right now But anyway, a quick tip that might help? My friend's battery cover on his phone was pretty loose and would fall off all the time. Is this kind of what you're talking about? I don't have physical g1 in hand to tell, but if it is you could cut up a business card or two and fit it underneath the cover to add some thickness to the battery. This will allow more of a snug fit for the battery cover. Worked like a charm for my buddy.

get a little of that sticky putty for earthquakes and stick it in there to shore it up

While doing this, be aware that it might cause overheating of the battery. The space between the door and battery, though small, is there to help disapate heat.

Yeah you're right about that. I probably wouldn't cover the entire battery then, maybe just half or even less. Should still work.

YUP! Right where the damn camera button is at. Im thinking of putting on a sticker or something. Just to hold it down. Maybe a piece of vinyl so it doesnt make a mess on the phone.

I am willing to bet that we will soon have face plates out there so people can customize their G1's. Once that happens, I bet they will be nice and sturdy.
