im wondering the same
i want the g1 to use the acceralrmator to its potential.
Anyone knows how easy to implement auto orientation so that we don't have to pull the keyboard every time we need to view screen in landscape mode? I know there is a "flip orientation" option from the menu that I can manually pick, but it would rather see it auto flip (based on the sensor)? (Picsay has auto orientation implemented)
How about figure swipe motion to navigate through pictures rather than having to navigate the arrows key? I know G1 is capable of the above features, wonder why it takes third party developers so long to roll them out...eatures, wonder why it takes third party developers so long to roll them out...

That would rock!!
I was watching a video on tinytube last night, and much to my surprise, it changed orientation when I moved the phone..

i want the option of always having it landscape. i know the broweser will let you choose.
i would be happy with auto orientaion.

agreed, i find it dumb that there is a sensor but they didn't automatically make it so the phone adjusts to whichever way you hold it, just like the "iPhone" whatever just a reference. &i can't wait for the update to have the virtual keyboard so i can type with 1 hand if i'm lazy.
I may be totally wrong, but I am almost 100% sure that the g1 does NOT have an accelerameter. So no update woula add a physical part to our beloved g1's.
It has an accelerometer
Some of the applications have an option in the menu, I know the browser does and so does the picture viewer.
Wait for it, I'd guess this functionallity will come around at the same time the virtual keyboard is distributed
