    Default AT&T Hero Problems

Hey everyone, i just got my unlocked hero and am trying to used it on the AT&T network. The problem i am having is it will not connect to the internet, not with wifi or 2G. Does anyone know if i have to set up my phone to use the browser? So far i can only make calls and send text messages. Any help will be appreciated. thanks

You need to add an APN:

Its in setings -> wireless controls ->Mobile networks -> Access Point Names

Then press Menu and add APN and put these settings in.

    name: AT&T
    apn: wap.cingular
    proxy: blank
    port: blank
    username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
    password: CINGULAR1
    server: blank
    mmsc: http://mmsc.cingular.com
    mms proxy: wireless.cingular.com
    mms port: 80
    mcc: 310
    mnc: 41
    apn: blank

If that doesnt work try turning the wifi off and just using Edge. I was having the same issues even after the APN setting changes. Something is up the wifi and some routers. Mine works at work but not at home. It seems when wifi is on it even blocks my Edge connection

Ok great, just for clarity did the APN settings get it working? Any wifi issues?

yup that did it, but WiFi only works in some places, i just keep it off and use 2G, thats fast enough.

Just curious. Is MMS working for you using the above APN settings?
