I got a hero today and am struggling to get any music on it...

I have tried drag and drop but in My Comp (I am on Win XP) it says "Please insert memory card" - the card is in the phone

I have tried "Songbird" but understand they don't support Android as yet

I have tried "Media Monkey" but again - while I can see drive E: (the phone) it comes up with 0 bytes space - I have an almost empty 2GB SD card... so when I drag and drop in there - it just comes up with an error.

I had heard that I need to mount the SD card - but I have no clue how to do this - I have unmounted it but can't see how to "mount" it...

Any help greatly appreciated, it's driving me nuts!!

    Cheers

not sure how to mount the card on the hero, but i assume it's like the g1 pull down the notification menu, and press the usb connected button, then mount phone.

Songbird does too. You just have to use the folder sync plugin.

It seems you may be leaving out a step. for use in media monkey and for drag and drop you have to mount the phone as a drive.... super easy just takes a quick touch of the screen.
When you plug in your phone a usb icon appears in the android taskbar, slide it down and touch the USB connected, that will give you option to mount, touch yes, you should now be able to access and copy music to the music folder on your microSD card.

You can use DroidSynk ( from the market )
We have created DroidSynk to make it simple for people to synk media to their android phones - it syncs over WIFI - no more cables
