The "Knowledge Base" also contains information on adding music to Android

I use a Mac, so I guess UMS will have to do. Although I learned that you can just drag files straight from iTunes to your removable drive. It's pretty easy that way. I used to use my iRiver player that way and it was no problem. My only thing is making playlists for the G1. It'll probably be easier to make the playlists on the phone.

I doubt the included earbuds will be good, though. I'm definitely going to have to buy the 3.5mm to ExtUSB adapter. I need to buy some good earbuds, because I really can't risk hearing loss. I'll just use my over the ear phones for now.

Another option - if you use iTunes on your Windows or OSX desktop - may be the commercial software Sailing Media Sync.

I had a brief discussion with the developer in his forums, where it sounded like it may be viable - but testing, of course, will be the key:

One of the potential advantages is copying only the diffs, not your whole playlist/etc at each sync.

Here's a helpful post I found that explains how to sync an iTunes playlist to the G1. It works well!

Would I still have all my stuff in my original iTunes. Will I still be able to sync my current iPod touch ?

Yep, it just asks you to choose a (regular or smart) playlist in iTunes to auto-sync to any 'mass storage' device - in this case the G1's SD card. I created a playlist just for my G1 in iTunes and have it syncing over. That's the only thing that changed in iTunes.

So I just setup that iTunes thing then I hook my g1 to the comp and I'm good to go?

Basically, yep. There are some basic instructions in the other post you'll need to follow. 5 minutes and you're set!

I have Windows Vista and used Windows Media Player. When I opened the media player it recognized the Android Phone, the files for albums and artists are empty even though I have music on the phone. If you use their sync option it will copy your library onto the phone. My problem is I've downloaded music from Amazon directly from my G1 and now would like those songs to be synced with media player. It seems media player only copies music from my computer to the phone.

I just wrote a windows program that lets sync android with a PC. Its still in a very early alpha stage, but you are free to try it out.

It basically treats the android like a USB flash drive and syncs to it.

It is able to sync iTunes playlists (you can pick multiple playlists), and also creates them on android, so android doesn't have just a dump of songs but actually has playlists.

It also copies the pictures to android and resizes them.

    Its available at http://www.dwipal.com/flashsync.htm
I would love to hear any feedback
    Thanks,
    DD
