I Was Wondering The Same Thing...Upping This Thread.
I've been to a dozen forums and everyone's asking the same question but NO ONE has an answer.
Does anyone on this or any other planet know how to "Make Your Own" shortcut for Any Cut?
Also, I created 2 text message links but they both open the same persons text messages. I've deleted the bad one and tried again with the same results. What's the deal???![]()
Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

Android Vs. iPhone? We're Far From Equal, Cause Your Claims Of Being Better Are Very See Through And We Just "Rock" Like Guitars & Speakers.-Student
lol i just noticed that there was this feature... not a clue on how to use it though...
There was a thread on this a while back.
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f...-anycut-15496/
It might give you an idea of what you can do with create your own. It has to do with creating an intent (action) an content (data).
It's something that makes more sense if you are developing apps. Each app is capable of exporting intents based on data. It's the Android equivalent of the app saying "Yoo hoo! You don't need to know how to do this but I am capable of viewing (intent) this type of data (content)"
It doesn't make the phone aware of how to launch data, it just provides other apps an interface to use that one piece of functionality from the app publishing the intent.
An example would be if you wrote an application that needed to allow address entry but then wanted to allow users to pick a place from a map. You wouldn't have to write that yourself, you'd call the intent published as part of the maps device.
I'm not sure how to find out what all the intents are, but I'm pretty sure that some information is given from programs like astro when looking at the packages.
Here are two listings of intents. One of them was in the thread i referenced.

I think that's what I was looking for. I'll play with 'em tonight and see if I can figure it out. THANKS!!!!
BTW Can anyone answer my other question?
I created 2 text message links but they both open the same persons text messages. I've deleted the bad one and tried again with the same results. Why do they open the same conversation? I KNOW I chose the correct contact and I've texted him over 200 times with the CONTACTS link.
Okay, this information might make sense to app developers, but could someone break it down so anyone could learn how to create their own shortcuts?
I've read this thread three times and I still have no idea what an "intent" is. How do I make an app that will open to a specific part of Settings, for example? Specifically, I want to create a shortcut that opens the Mobile networks selection under Wireless and network settings, so I can quickly select or deselect "Use packet data".
