I use Droid Anti-Virus which is a paid app. I'm not at all sure it's necessary since I believe the virus threat on android is very low....but I live in fear of the hard reset or re-loading apps or anything that requires patience!
Hi,
Anyone got any opinions on the value of having one of the current virus checkers installed on an Android phone? I can't decide (a) if the av products really work and (b) if there's any real risk of an infection.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

I used antivirus free and did a scan it said there was alot of viruses but i know there isn't plus android is Linux based Ive never heard of virus for Linux but I'm not an expert on Linux How does the anti-virus run on your droid @ Vonn just curious ?
knowledge is power
if i'm not mistaken the only true virus you could get on an android phone is if you give it root access and it is specifically malicious...
that being said, apps written with poor intentions is a much more legitimate issue. If an application is given proper permissions on install, it could steal your contact info, upload your files, and various other things...
that's why much more importantly (to me atleast) is checking what permissions an app requires, then an antivirus program...
