Android, T-Mobile G1 in CANADA ?

hey i'm in toronto and ya i don't think rogers or bell
with have anything to do with open source...

but i've inquired over at rogers wireless and since they are gsm
you can buy a g1 android phone in the states and have rogers
activate it on their network....

i've found a website that will sell us the phones unlocked and
without a contract...

can't wait...lol

Oh. When will the T-Mobile G1 will be available to us?! Preorder are only for t-mobile costumers..

Will it be available to the entire world on the 22th october?

Any updates on this Rogers activiation??? I'm in Montreal and would like to support the movement with my next cell purchase.

FYI: The *** site isn't listing the details on the phone...a dead link. Hopefully gets fixed soon.

Any idea what the price will be???

I too would like more info on the "Rogers activation" the guy at the top mentioned.

G1 works fine on Rogers. Use any Rogers SIM, sign up with the iPhone data plan and it works: http://oliverfisher.blogspot.com/200...on-rogers.html

Has anyone successfully used the G1 on the Rogers network? Can I simply purchase a Rogers Sim card, or must I pretend to own an iPhone? Can I tell them I have an unlocked G1 and they will gladly sell me a SIM card?

Also, if that works, I assume the same would be true for the soon to be released HTC Magic (the G2)?
