I have this problem i think, sometimes happens mid text conversation i can no longer send texts and have to reboot the phone afterwards it works fine untill it happens again.
Doesn't seem to be any particular trigger (possibly changing cell whilst an sms tries to go out) Is there a bug reporting page/site for G1? or do I just ring t-mobile and let them know? I want to keep the phone I just hope it gets fixed in a firmware update. |

I also had this problem. After about a week of messing around, I found something that worked for me. Hope this helps someone else.
*Download Any Cut from the Market. *Open Any Cut and click "New shortcut" *Click "Activity", then "Testing", then "OK" *Go to your home screen and click "Testing" *Click Phone information *Scroll all the way down *Where it says "SMSC:" make sure "+12063130004" is entered(for the US), if not, enter it and click "Update" |

I lost my phone two days ago and purchased another phone off of craigslist (I am with ATT). I rooted, updated the recovery image, the new spl, and ROM.
Everything went great... except I could not send SMS messages. I found a solution with partial help from a forum post (I think on this forum) about someone using ANYCUT to create a homescreen shortcut to "Phone Info." I used that shortcut to observe some settings with my phone. One suggestion was to turn off - then, back on - the radio. I did that without success. Finally, I called ATT and was provided excellent customer support. The rep asked me if I had set my "SMSC." I replied that I had located a setting for the SMSC using the above shortcut - but, there was no number listed and I had no idea if the setting was correct. He provided the following SMSC # +13123149810. I entered the number and selected the "update" button. PROBLEM SOLVED! So, IF you have an ATT phone and you EVERYTHING works, except your SMS messages won't send... Try using the above shortcut method to enter that setting. If that doesn't work call ATT and find out if the SMSC number is the same for an HTC device in your area. |
