    Default Aim messaging problem

So I got my G1 today (after a crap load of trouble yesterday), and everything is great except when someone meassges me on aim it pops up as my screen name. For example if I get a message ABC123 it comes up as Message from (myscreenname) and all the incoming messages from different people keep coming from my screen name. I know it makes no sense. But is anyone else havign this problem?

Supposedly it was due to having a space in your login name, but I think that has been debunked. if it's really a bug, it should be fixed by this OTA upgrade tomorrow hopefully.

Mine does that as well, has been posted here a couple times with others having the same problem.

Hope there's a workaround found or even better -- it gets fixed.

There is no space in my name, btw. Not sure why it does that.

I get the same problem. GTalk works fine though. I hope they get the AIM and MSN fixed though.

Yeah, this is happening to me too. Started yesterday, still happening today.

My SN doesn't have a space in it either.

what is weird for me with AIM is that there's no icon on the top to let you know you are logged in.. on the flipside, if you get logged out, it doesnt notify you either.

I can log myself out of AIM (icq) by logging into my account from my computer- that will kick any other device logged in.

I do this, and the G1 just acts like nothing happened- it got logged out- but doesnt notify me in any way- that pretty much sucks.

Another thing that I'm not wild about is that the IM sound notifications only occur if you are NOT in the conversation screen.

If you are in a conversation screen with someone, their msgs appear silently. Kinda sucks if you are on the go, but talking to someone in bits. You never know when they replied unless you keep checking.

I can see people wanting it to be silent in conversation mode, but AGAIN we need OPTIONS here.

i had the same problem but it is fix now. All i did was sign out and sign back in again. NOt sure if this fixed it or it was because t-mobile fixed it?? so try to sign out.. or sign in as another user name and sign back on with your login.
