Accelerometer stopped working

Have been looking for an answer on forums for a long time and still have not found one. My accelerometer has stopped working and I am suspecting that it is because I download too many apps and they clog up the memory. I have noticed that the more apps I download the less sensitivity the accelerometer displays until it completely stops.

Is there a way to correct this?

Is the only way to get the accelerometer back and running a hard reset?

Mine stopped working and I had to do a factory restore. Basically a reinstall. Then you will have to download all of your apps again. Paid apps will be remembered through your existing google account but you will have to reinstall them.

Fixed my problem! Let me know how it works.

I know that a factory reset would fix the problem but is there a way to stop it from happening again and again, like a patch or something.

I have 106 apps . No problem with The accelometer . What is it doing ? Could it be the compass instead of the accelometer ? Try to smack the back of the "chin" , if its the compass it will help . Also , empty your cashe's . Like the browser , etc . Too many apps shouldn't effect the accelometer , unless you don't have any memory left . How do you know its the accelometer ?

i am pretty sure it is the accelerometer because in games like papi jump and abduction it does not work. So i doubt it is the compass. But thanks for you tip, i will try it just in case.
