The accelerometer is yet utillized on the phone, asside from specific apps. Some applications including the browser allows you to "flip orientation" manually without having to open the keyboard if you hit menu>more>flip orientation
OK, so I got a G1 on Thursday and everything seemed to be working (except the annoying lack of MSN messenger compatibility on the UK variant). However, when I went into Wikitude, it constantly told me to hold the handset in Landscape, no matter how i rotate the phone. So i've tried going into maps and some other apps that are meant to use the accelerometer and none of them change when I rotate the screen.
Am I being incredibly dumb and not working out how to use the accelerometer or do I need to take it back?

Any idea when that will be addressed?
One app I see using the acceloromter is the picsay.. at least it changes the orientation of the photo when flipped. You would think, even though (I guess) this is a beta product, it would be somewhat more polished than it is.

OK, not even picsay is rotating when i open a picture and shift it round. Guess that means my accelerometer's broken.
pac man has an option to use the accelerometer, but it is tough to figure out
Video player, bubble, amazed, and brain genius deluxe apps also takes advantage of the accelerometer
My accelerometer isn't working for any of the apps that require it. It was working last week, I was wondering if maybe I turned it off by accident. is there a was to turn it on and off?
