Wish We could use dialer during phone calls :( (SO IT'S A GOOD THING WE CAN!) :)
So im playing with my new toy and noticed i missed a call...So i dial the V.M and noticed i need to enter my password... Pretty bad that we have to open and expose the keyboard... why aren't we able to use the dialer to enter credit card number or password etc... during a call.. How can we continue to listen to rep. with the keyboard open...
Hope they fix this with the update..
But i love my G1!!!!!!!!!

If I'm reading that correctly, that would have to be a fix with the first major update.
I mean are you saying that when i call my voice mail and it asks for my password I have to open the phone to type that in?

I'll definitely need this fix... I make lots of international calls and have to "enter pin", "enter number" after calling the Phone card company... OUCH!
OH Well, there's bluetooth, speakerphone and even headset...

When I call the bank to check balance, I have to open the phone and type in account number? OMG, that will drive me insane.

Dont fret guys... someone will surely write an application with a virtual keyboard/dailer on the screen to resolve this issue... Hopefully, sooner than later

hmm that does seem troublesome... Maybe it's so that othertimes when you don't need to push things you dont enter stuff with your cheek. Maybe a swipe motion or something when you need the dialer to confirm you want to enter stuff.

Uhhhh... the dialer is totally THERE when you're on a call.
When you place the call, the little tab at the bottom above the menu button has the icon for the dialer on it, does it not? Click it. --Or drag it up if you prefer. There's the dialer.Ricky Turner

When in voicemail pull up the little tab that shows up and then you have access to the dialer. Originally Posted by pvalery
