Will modding get easier?

I was checking some of the simple yet still difficcult mods that are appearing now.

Custom boot logo

Custom icons

Auto rotation

stuff like that.

Its cool to see people doing thisstuff now, but man I was trying to figure out how they did and I was just likw uhhhhhhhhhh. I have no idea what some of this stuff means like kernal and what not. Im sure if i sat down and actually read up on it I might have a lil clue. What im getting at is will modding become as easy as to mod a motorola phone i guess. Those were easy.

Only time will tell.... If it does, however, I don't think it will be any time soon.

I am looking at skinning the G1, suching as changing the colors of the status bar and such, and while it is possible, it will be very time consuming and aggravating.

I am considering doing it just for the knowledge gained, but I know that more than likely, I will not be able to write out a simple step by step tutorial on how to do it, because it is not simple.

One could, however, take the framework.apk I will have produced afterwords and use it, but they will still be stuck with the design I have laid out, unless they do it themselves. Also, root access is required for a mod like this.

Long and short, I think mods will get more complex for a while but eventually something may happen that will radically simplify the process.

As far as getting easier it all depends on what is being done to the phone. It would also depend on how easy the person who is putting the mod out there wants to make it on the user. Usually they would include step by step instructions but if he really wants to be nice he would include an app that would do most of the work for the user.

As android increases market share more and popularity more and more developrs will be attracted to it and in return what to develop/mod android phones.
