    Default Voip For Andriod

I would really appreciated if someone start making a software thorough which the calls over ip is possible. That would be the cheapest way for long distance calls.

Symbian OS as well as Windows Mobile does support voice over IP softwares and i have tried those and they work great specially on Symbian OS

Having looked for a skype app that will do this I agree voip apps on the g1 would be great, the only ones I have seen so far don't seem to be up to much or require a paying account somewhere. Also keep seeing mention of iSkoot for skype as "being on the marketplace" which it isn't and I have been through several times and searched for it unsuccesfully. It might be availible seperately in the US but im unsure if there are different markets in the US/UK. Also iSkoot uses your tmobile minutes rather than making voip calls via wi-fi and t-mobile won't allow 3G voip.

iSkoot is not a true VOIP app. It uses callback technology and your mins. For those of us who dont want to use our cell mins we need a dedicated Skype (or other) client that works over WIFI.

    I'm desperate for this already.

Agreed. Iskoot is not true voip. But any software that supports SIP for voip would be the best. Cz it supports free voip services such as voipbuster and gizmo

T-Mobile (and by extension, Google) would frown on such an app. I think that's the real reason iSkoot uses your minutes.

If it gets built, I doubt it'll get posted on the market.

Well the Tmobile CTO has said they would rather not see a VOIP app but that they wouldn't block one if one was made

Correct, let's draw the line between what is offered by T-Mobile and what is offered by Google.
