Text/missed call alert

My old phone would beep or vibrate every few minutes or so if I had a new text or missed call that wasn't acknowledged. This was very handy if, say I had my phone pocketed at work or wasn't carrying it from room to room with me. Would it be possible for someone to write an app that did this?

Possible? Yes. In the meantime you have to look at your phone for the blinking green light.
