    Default T9 keyboard

i really think that a t9 keyboard is needed on the g1 and all new touch screen phones. I myself have sort of big fingers so therefore touch screen keyboards dont get along with me well. the handcent on on the market had the right idea, but i felt it was lacking the "cycle" option and when it didnt understand a word, it just turrned to numbers. for anyone who agrees i suggest you download the handcent keyboard and see what you would do differently

Agreed. And you don't need root to use it. Before I rooted my phone I installed the apk only and didn't bother with the other files, and it works exactly as it does now that I've rooted my phone.

Yea, everyone says you need root, but its not necessary. The only problem I've noticed with this vk, is that after you use it, if you try to use the slide out keyboard, the punctuation doesn't get inserted automatically, unless you click inside the text box first. And even then it runs under the text input program and it flashes a predictive text. It just annoys me lol. So I always use a task manager to close textinput after i use the vk. No biggie really.
