System Admin Apps

Just like 90% of the people in the world, I NEED exchange support! OWA will work temporarily, but would really like full Exchange support.

I also need RDP or PCAnywhere. Either of those programs will take care of all of my other needs, as I can just log in to my PC at my desk to work remotely.

I drudgingly have to use an Exchange server at work as well, and OWA really does suck. I'm sure there will be at least one Exchange connector app written for Android before long so we don't have to suffer with OWA. I just hope it works while not being on the VPN (Apple's Mac-based Mail app *has* to be on the VPN for Exchange support to work, which is kind of a drag).

An RDP client would be pretty cool too, I'm sure one will be ported -- there's tons of good open source RDP clients in the world.

I don't know if full Exchange support is really possible on the G1, but if you can live with your exchange email pushed to the phone, I think that there will be solutions for that coming real soon. Too much geek-glory at stake lol!

As for a remote desktop client, that should be a piece of cake on Android.

I know an app would be needed for RDP. How about VNC there are already a bunch of web based java apps for it. Shouldn't they work fine in webkit? Also can android run java apps not made just for android but that are cross platform or written in J2ME?

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ @ VNC type apps. Reaching a Linux or Windows machine would be epic awesomeness, ESPECIALLY if they could perhaps use the multi-touch capability that is hidden away ^_^

Also, sftp and ssh would also be great essentials!
