    Lightbulb Steady Shot Camera App

So I've seen some of the pictures taken from the G1..and they can turn out to be a work of art if taken with a very steady hand. This may very well be a hardware issue with the HTC.

But how about creating a 3rd party camera application that utilizes the accelerometer to add steady shot functionality?

It would be pretty sweet to take pictures at night with clarity. This would put the android software and the G1 a little over the top than the iPhone.
I've seen my friends taking pictures at night and most of them have some sort of blur or another.

    What do you guys think?

you read my mind - I mean now that Android (being open source) is about to hit the consumer market at a broad range - Google needs to create more incentives to motivate these developers to start pushing applications over the edge and use every available hardware aspect from a device so that all the resources can be exhausted before companies start looking to develop new devices with better hardware. A group made an algorithm a while back that was supposed to eventually be implemented into cameraphones to decrease the blur. I know how to write the algorithm in theory, but not actually code it. Could be done with software.

What about something that tracks pixels to eliminate motion?

I doubt that the accelerometer has enough precision to be useful in this application.

Something like this would reduce the pixel count in photos, but the trade off would probably be worth it.
