Its rooting info as well as a rom by thedude, it also includes Amon Ra's recovery.

The Dudes Root SHX and Custom ROM for CLIQ and DEXT
This SHX based root will work on Motorola Cliq and Dext phones. Update zips are currently available for T-Mobile US and Orange FR.

This should not wipe your phone.
If you have issues you may want to wipe your data partition using the Recovery.

NOTE: If you have already applied th SHX with Boot and Recovery, you do not need to do so again to apply the new updates. Proceed to Step 6

Step 1. Setup computer for flashing...
1a. Setup ADB Using Danation's Guide
1b. Download USB Drivers if you haven't already in 1a.
Motorola 4.2.0 Driver with MotoConnect* (for 32-bit versions of Windows®)
Motorola 4.2.0 Driver with MotoConnect* (for 64-bit versions of Windows®)
1c. Google RSD-Lite 4.5.7 and download and install it. 4.5.7 or higher REQUIRED

Step 2.
Download Boot + Amon_RA Recovery SHX and unzip it.

Step 3. Flash SHX Using RSD-Lite
3a. Launch RSD-Lite as Administrator (Right Click > Run as Administrator)
3b. Select SHX file you downloaded in Step 2.
3c. Click Start, your phone should reboot into bootloader and apply the flash. It will then reboot again into your SetupWizard.

Step 3. Alternate Method:
Some people are having issues with RSD Lite flashing. Try running the command like this.
4a. Run cmd prompt as Administrator (Right Click > Run as Administrator)
4b. Run the following command

Step 4. NOTE TWO DIFFERENT ROMS
Download one of the following roms. T-Mobile is based on the T-Mobile US SHX v1.1.13. The ORANGE rom is based on the Orange FR 1.1.37 Update.zip

The Dudes CliqCake v0.4.1. T-Mobile US, Blur Version 1.1.13
The Dudes DextCake v0.4.1 ORANGE FR Blur Version 1.1.37

NOTE: G1, Hero, MT3G, Nexus One, Samsung behold based roms WILL NOT RUN on your phone DO NOT TRY TO FLASH THEM.

Step 5. Type the following to copy the zip to your sd card, or mount the sd card and copy it to the root of your SD.
...you need to be in the folder where your update.zip is saved for this syntax to work

adb push signed-update-dude-cliqcake-v0.45.zip /sdcard/
Note: Some people are having issues with an existing recovery. After you flash this, your recovery should look like this:



If it does NOT look like that, then you need to type this command in your computer's command prompt while the phone is booted up.

adb remount
adb shell rm /system/recovery.img
This will wipe the recovery off your phone. You must repeat Step 3 after doing this!

Step 6. Enter Recovery
Power off phone
'Hold Camera + Power' to enter recovery menu
'Volume down' to go into recovery.
OR

adb shell reboot recovery
BACK UP YOUR PHONE
Select Backup/Restore
Select Firswt Backup option

If you have a rom that isn't tmobile-us, or orange-fr...I'd be interested in a copy of your system.img from your first backup.

Step 7. Select Flash zip from sdcard
Use the volume keys to go up and down. The home key selects.

Select the update you downloaded and click Home to flash, home again to verify flashing procedure.


Step 8. REBOOT
Use the back key to get back to the main menu.
Reboot back into the os and enjoy your rooted phone.

If something goes wrong in Recovery
To copy the log to your sdcard:
Select 'Other' menu option
Select 'Copy log to SD'
The log will be in /sdcard/tmp/

About backup errors...
We are currently aware that some people are having issues with nandroid. Try reformatting your sdcard and unplugging the cable while backing up. We're working on it.

First of all thanks to Skrilax_CZ and his Android CG2 (De)Packer, Meiner Einer for his SHX packager, and Danation for just asking all the right questions. They really were vital to the root happening this quickly.

Amon_RA was CRUCIAL for this release. He developed the recovery, based on cyanogens recovery, based on JesusFreke's recovery.

Thanks to suarik, JesusFreke, haykuro, zinx, koush, stericson, and cyanogen, Amon_RA...and many other android modders.

Without these guys, you'd be running stock retail phones.

nothing currently, wait yes there is, the phone is fast regardless rooted or not but u can use every root app in the market, there is a sense ui rom(buggy) and u can theme your phone.

mines did the same, its a bug in Amon Ra's recovery, you dont need to backup because this rom is basically a stock blur just with root. I recommend going ahead and flashing it, when its setup how u like, go into recovery and do a bart backup or switchrom.
