i redownloaded it and named it update and it doesnt even look like it would be a zip file

i have rc29, renamed the other file update, put in folder, hit alt s, and it tries for a split second to update but the triangle comes back up

? Did you unzip it, don't if you didn't but? it should stilll look the same I think. Are you on windows?
