hi [im new here]
uhm... im stuck on drizzy's full v3 version of hero
and i want to install drizzy's v1.5.5, but apparently, its not working for my g1.
every time i flash and reboot, it goes to the g1 screen, then shuts off, and reboots back to the g1 screen. it just won't boot up.
[ive looked everywhere for this problem, but i haven't found any results.]

this also happens w| v1.4r1 and newer, along with JACxHero builds v1.8 and newer.

is there any way i can fix this?

Sounds like you haven't been wiping you're ext partitions before flashing.
Do this:

: rename to update.zip (if you're not using Cyan's 1.4 recovery)
: place in the root of sd card
: shut off device
: boot into recovery
: wipe
: go to console and hit enter
(enter)
# mount /system/sd
# rm -rf /system/sd/*
# reboot recovery
: now wipe again
: repair ext system
: flash
: Enjoy!

You might have a bad download.
I've have never had this issue. Try downloading again.

I just took my first leap into the Hero world ... and it seems pretty nice. Everything seems to be running pretty well. I flashed Drizzy Blur-HeroV1.0. I read on xda that there was a problem with people not being able to send SMS messages. I found the post that has the fix for this problem but I don't understand it 100%. I am asking here because you guys seem to be very helpful (and pretty nice). :-)

Well people i have a full hero rom SMS sending and all working no BT so dont ask here's what you do flash your favorite NON ODEX hero build then push the framework.res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk to system/framework then push rosie to system/sd/app_s again this will only work ON NON ODEX BUILDS everything is included here in the zip attached it can NOT be flashed so dont try it.

I have no clue what a non odex build is ... is the Blur-Hero 1.0 a non odex? Also to push the apk files to the phone I assume that I am going to use terminal on my PC through the ADB (using the push command)? Would I be able to accomplish the same thing with root explorer if I simply had the apk files on my SD card?

I appreciate the help. Also does the 1.5.5 build have any SMS bugs? maybe I should have not gone with the "experimental build"

Don't worry about what non odex means (apps just don't have odex files associated with them making the rom faster and smaller)

Version 1.5.5 is non odex and can be found in the OP. or Here: http://www.androidspin.com/downloads...DDR-V1.5.5.zip
Download it, wipe ext, flash then "Yes" use "Root Explorer" and copy and paste framework.res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk to system/framework then copy and paste rosie to system/sd/app_s
Then Reboot and you will have a Blurry Hero with working sms.
