You know what? That sounds like a great idea! If its possible, man that was be unbelievable i think. Good thinking!
I was looking at a video of G1 using the compass feature with street view. Now I m not technically smart enough to write a program for G1, but there are lots of people who probably can do gr8 at it. so Neways, since the G1 has a compass tht lets you figure out the four directions and up and down. Can there be a application that lets you control a security camera that can go in four directions using the compass feature? Like tht guy that made a robot arm move wid the wiimote?
If it can be done, or if this idea has already been addressed that would be great.
Have a gr8 day![]()

I like this idea, too. It reminds me of what I call "historical walk-throughs." Imagine this: you're in Times Square in New York City. You turn on Google Maps, it finds your location, and then you enable "street view." And then there's a new button on the map: "historical view." When you click that, you can rotate around with your camera and see Time Square as it was 50 years ago, or 100 years ago, or more, always with you being properly oriented according to the compass. On the phone you see a building as it was 50 years ago, and you can compare it side-by-side to what you see in real life. Heavily photographed places like Times Square, Picadilly Circus, or the Champs Elysée would be perfect for a historical view.
On edit: These panoramas might do the trick! http://www.panoramas.dk/
(Of course, Google Map's street view is already a "historical view"--it's sometimes a few years old.)
