Yep, tried the downgrade back to RC29 and let it update OTA. Still no good. Old radio version and now if I try to play anything through headphones it reboots.
So, I rename ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip and drop it on the HTC Dream. Hold Home + Power, do the Alt+S routine and it says it installed it. Press the HOME + BACK buttons and it restarts, shows the little chip with the big arrow dumping the code on it, then restarts again.
Everything should be OK right? Nope, I still see Baseband = 62.33.20.08H_1.22.12.29
Alright, time to downgrade to RC29 and install the new radio, reboot, etc. Nope, still 1.22.12.29.
Ok, I give up, maybe I'll try installing JFv1.50_ADP1.5.zip and then updating the radio. Nope, still 1.22.12.29.
Ok, try wipe (Alt+W) and then install radio (Alt+S) ... Nope, still 1.22.12.29.
What is the trick here? I've Googled a lot for the answer and there doesn't seem to be others out there with this problem. Is it forever stuck because I had updated to cupcake before dropping the radio on there?
I had a stock OTA version but installed the signed OTA T-Mobile Cupcake and thought everything was fine for a while. That was until I noticed the in call volume control didn't do anything and if I received a call while listening to an mp3, the sound would completely stop until reboot. I had hoped downgrading to RC29 and letting T-Mobile's OTA update patch it. I didn't want to root it, but their OTA update didn't update the radio.
Now what?

I had the same problem...For some reason the new radio would only stick after I installed a modded recovery image.

Honestly I couldn't get anything to work. Gave up and got a new phone.
