actually it does have the option, its just the program that creates the physcial qr code has to write into the code that it is a contact.
and I'm trying to find a free contact qr generator.

found this qr generator has a few more options then the other one. just right click save the image (and the contact is saveable automatically to your phone)

You need to check the market and/or use the search button. Barcode Scanner is about as universal as it gets.

Way late here. I am a developer of Barcode Scanner. It has had the option to save scanned contact info to contacts from day one. It needs to be in a recognized format like MECARD or vCard. Try http://zxing.appspot.com/generator for a generator that takes care of that for you.
