Cool idea. But I do think I read recently that we do not have access to the bluetooth API yet. Maybe soon?
We may or may not have access to the Bluetooth API yet? But it would be cool if someone looked into creating an app to control your ps3 as a controller or as the blue-ray player controller... Save us all from buying the blue-ray remote control.

I'd buy that just to not have to keep the controller by me while watching blue rays
I've done a little digging and from what I can see there is an API for BlueTooth programming. The difficult part is that emulators don't support BlueTooth so you need to develop against an actual device.
This idea actually came to me last night and I checked today to see if a DVD/BlueRay controller app for the PS3 had been developed yet... and so far haven't found one.
I have a PS3 controller for DVD/BlueRay playback and it's loaded with every button you can think of ... thought it would be nice to have an Android app that could be used instead. It should have a default layout with common buttons and be configurable enough to set things up the way that you want.
I've been trying to come up with a good Android app to work on and it looks like I found it! I have some other ideas related to BlueTooth, which is why I was checking out API support. However, this would be a fun project and shouldn't be that difficult to implement. Can't promise anything.. and not totally sure how feasible this is... but I'm definitely going to look into it.
Research is important. Before you know what to do and how to do it right, you must have the right information. However, it may surprise you to find that often if you focus on looking for what you want, you can do it in a few minutes. Most of the time are spent wandering around from sites to sites...
