problems with 4.9 g2 hack

so its installed. it works. it boots. but when i pull up the apps tab, its empty. there are no apps in there. no dialer, camera, nothing. whats this all about?

and what is the radio update? and how do i go about installing that?

there are 3 huge threads about this. One is here and the other 2 are over at XDA where they originated from. I saw this discussed on page 60+ in the original thread.

Why would you install it if you didn't know what you were getting into? Thats how ppl brick phones or get stuck.

i knew exactly what i was getting myself into, thank you very much. i knew there were bugs in it, and that it wasnt perfect. i've been reading it since version 3 came out. i figured 4.9 was the most stable, and i didnt hear too many bad things about it. sorry if expecting applications to be under the apps tab was too much.


i did wipe the phone. alt-w, then alt-s to install update.zip.

all i want is for the stock applications, like the freakin dialer to be existant. so much to ask?

just did. no luck. booted with home/power. alt-w to wipe, then alt-s to install update.zip. start the phone back up. htc magic screen, homescreen, still no apps under the apps tab.

4.9 is definitely not the most stable. Its still my favorite though. 4.5 is much more stable.

4.5, 4.9....i dont really care which build it is. i just got 4.9 cuz it was the most recent. all i want is for the stock apps to be on the phone.

i've been playing around with 4.9 for a few hours now. nothing bad has happened to me yet. no restarts, no nothing. wifi is working fine. texts are comin in. contacts are synced. i just want the stock apps like the music and the camera apps to be there. that'd be freakin great!

Its funny you say this after you asked those two questions, because if you were rooted and on the 1.1 FW then you've already applied one radio update, right? Check out the first post in the original thread, your answer is there for your questions about the radio update.

Im not trying to be a d!ck, but when its all there for you and you're asking questions that you "should" know, if you're this far along modding your phone, then I'm not going to sugar coat it... knowledge is power, help the community grow! Maybe its just me but I like to know what im getting into, hence the reason why I've read 97 pages and haven't flashed the build yet. Hope you find your other answers, I know its in there some where.
