Ok guys i've made a new, more in depth guide for tethering the G1. This is for linux. I dont take credit for the hack, just for explaining in detail a bit more. Enjoy!

hey can you help me out, I set my G1 for USB debugging and created the rules for Gutsy but when I connect the phone nothing comes up under
adb -d
or
adb devices

nothing is listed under
lspci

either
any help?

you have everything installed ? eclipse, android, and the plugin?

yes everything is installed
android sdk
eclipse
eclipse plugin, configuration
created and made executable the rules file
configured my G1 for outside sources and USB debugging
connect the G1
the adb commands show i have no devices connected

i dont see what i'm missing
