Nice job, some one used this on the MT3G with sucess.
I wanted to post a real easy step by step instructions on putting Google Maps Navi on a rooted G1. These are NOT my instructions, but they are really good and simple, even for those with general mod skills.
I am using CyanogenMod- 4.2.4
Navi Instructions:

Just a note: I had to reboot after step 25 (non-SDK instructions) because my home screen was missing all icons. I also had to install Google Voice to get it to work. The instructions state that you may need to.
Also, my phone is still showing as firmware 1.6 (some report 2.0). I heard that if it shows 2.0, some of the apps were not working because of compatibility issues. I have not had any of that.
Best of luck to everyone!

wow thats a a lot of steps ! i did it this way...
it took me four tries but i got it working .
this is how i did it (i changed one step from your directions). download and unzip the build.zip file onto the root of your sd .
download--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...7&d=1257915476
in terminal type(type exactly . watch for capital letters , spelling , and spaces)..
su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /sdcard/build.prop /system
cp /sdcard/build.trout.prop /system
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
rm /system/sd/dalvik-cache/*Maps*
rm /system/app/*Maps*
ash
mount -o remount,rw /system
install /sdcard/Maps.apk /system/app/
reboot
after you reboot , you will notice that there is no google maps icon . go into your drawer , its now called maps .
That's the one I gave to ahugo to get nav on mt3g. It has one extra build.prop, sapphire, in it.
yup that is the one that works on the mt3g...... BTW google nav is the best navigation program i have ever use
Would I have to re-do these steps if I update my ROM again? I'm updating to CM 4.2.4 now. I have one app (Power Manager) which I had to manually install into /system/app every time I update the ROM, this 20-30 manual steps (non-SDK) look pretty painful if I have to re-do that every time.
