i love my droid and i like that it is open souce, but some things have come to light about google that is concerning which calls into question the privacy of my phone.
Google is known to track all webserches and link them to our accounts for advertisers and they give the advertiser your info. Google chrom has been the latest really big ploy to compile our browsing information (which they link to our account and our IP address)....
this made me concerned so i looked up the privacy info on the android system. http://www.android.com/privacy.html and it is very similar to the chrom project, but now they also track our GPS location as well for marketing purposes.
this alone does not horrify me because ads directed towards me are generally useful... but then i read this on wikileaks: http://wikileaks.org/wiki/Gmail_may_...of_journalists and it made me wonder how much Google is willing to release about any of us if given a subpeona.
is there aps or mods to "hide" us or restricting what data is sent to google?
theoretically google shouldn't need to know my location for an ap to work, only my phone needs that information. is their a way to disrupt the information being sent out that is solely for marketing and third party purposes or any important data that can be used against me?
