Leaving WinMo Getting Droid

Hello, I have been a long time HTC winmo user, I have decided to make the plunge to the android 2.0 ui. I am getting the droid tomorrow and I am curious if these roms and themes will work for 2.0.
I have read up on Rooting and I am sure I can do it, (long time computer/phone junkie) but my question is, will I need to root 2.0 differently.

Basically, any links to some "How To's" would be greatly appreciated. I'm not asking for full answers b/c I know it has probably been stated somewhere already, just a little insight to the new world I am entering would be great.

You will need to root differently, and you will most likely need to wait a while until somebody actually figures it out.
