I really suggest anyone do a full wipe/factory reset before doing this, probably not necessary but can't hurt to much.

because its my understanding that the apps are still on the sdcard, so in essence you only have to make the symlinks again.

if that's true I think it would narrow down the required steps alot.

that being said however, I suspect that redoing all of it can't hurt, and in fact you would just get directory already exists error and what not!

Didn't to a wipe but it went okay, lost my theme and some random apps.
that I had installed. Anycut, toggle settings, video player and a few others still had the short cuts, but they were gone. Had them backed up so no problem.

I guess we wait before trying to apply themes again?
