Default Installing SDK on a Mac?

OK - I feel silly, but I downloaded the SDK to play around. I have a mac, but it's my first one - I'm used to a PC. Anyway, I can't find a .bash_profile and I'm not sure what to do if I did find it. Can someone post step by step directions? I'm not even getting to the creating a new project. Thanks!

here we go, drag and drop your unzipped sdk folder to your desktop, for easy reference rename it "sdk" now open terminal from the utilities folder, once this is open, go ahead and open your sdk folder, move to tools and find "sdb", then grab sdb and drop it inside the open terminal window.. its done, you can start typing your commands from there: i.e: "devices" this will show your G1 if is connected (doesn't need to be mounted tho). using arrow up in terminal will show the last typed commands just like in windows. feel free to ask more since Mac users is not much covered here

he could actually mean installing the SDK for developing Android Applications Juan.

In which case you'd have to walk him through the installation process for Eclipse as well, including the tools paths and such.

I'm having a similar issue. I followed the directions on google's webpage and i am unable to load the android application from just typing android. I added a .bash_profile as some have suggested and it will not run. Eclipse also does not see any sdk after i've added the adt with no luck. eclipse doesn't recognize the sdk either.

I encountered the same problem, and solved it by doing the following:

    Android Eclipse plugin installed? Check.

    In Eclipse, go to
Window -> Android SDK and AVD Manager -> Installed Packages -> Update All

    Whalah!
