Hi all
As a systems administrator, Ive been asked to install Android sdk on Windows XP, and eclipse plugin for a masters course lab in our university. I read all the instructions, and with administrator priveleges, installed android ( eclipse gallaleo was allready installed) installed the plugin successfully , and ran the sample code without any problems.
That was until I tried to test the software as an ordinary student type users. The plugin installation didnt appear to have taken affect for the ordinary user, and the virtual device wasnt created. When I tried to create the virtual device, I was told that the debug.keystore at a weird address ( not one that I had chosen) did not exist.
When I looked at the Build section in Preferences on Android , it doesnt seem possible to change the default debug.keystore.
Should the user of the android sdk also be the one who installs it, ie should they have administrative privileges on the machine, or am I missing something simple here? Not being a programmer I dont know the ins and outs of android . The programmers are happy with the application if i let them test it as the admin user, but Im notIf this is the case we can arrange for dedicated machines for the users. Any help would be appreciated
