need urgent help!

I got my Htc hero on T-mobile, but because i wanted to use an orange sim card, i paid T-mobile to unlock my hero so it will accpet my orange sim card.

now, i want to get to the android market, but it says that it can't establish a reliable data connection. I have been told that doing a factory reset on the phone will solve this situation.

I just want to know that if i do a factory reset, will my phone go back to accepting only T-mobile sim cards? or will my orange sim card still work on it?

once you unlock the sim card on a phone it remains unlocked.
