How to totally wipe phone?

I have a rooted phone on rc 30 jf/windows 7 beta them, i can't seem to get to the bootloader, or recoverymode, there is something wrong so i'm trying to completely wipe which i don't mind, when i even try to factory reset from the settings menu nothing happens after it reboots, no reset. i heard it might be the theme then if so how do i take it out. i know the basics. Thanks in advanced.

Put a different update on your phones sd card.
Start with home and power
Press alt + W for the wipe
And the alt + s for ine install

You'll lose the theme of course, but it might be what you have to do. After the update and wipe you maybe able to reinstall the theme if its compatible with whatever update you put on it.

I can't get to recovery mode or bootloader (Home + Power or CAmera + Power) And i do hold the home/camera button first then power right after it's stays at the g1 logo until i let go and then rebbots.
