how to makes pics fit as wallpapers on the G1?

i know pics have to be 638 × 478 in order for them to fit as wallpapers but how does one size down a picture that is bigger than 638 × 478 to this size?

I have a macboock but could probably get some one with a P.C to help me do this in case it is impossible with a mac.

i appreciate all the help

you don't have some type of photo software on the computer? I know there are some places online that will resize it for you, don't have the website with me right now though.

launch up Iphoto (I think it's called that).

easy on a Mac, just open it with preview go to tool/adjust size

Yes, I'm still laughing at someone entertaining the idea that resizing a picture might not be possible on a Mac. Those "I'm a Mac. I'm a PC." ads are working *really* well.
