How do I sent default number to use for text messaging?

I just received my Motorola Cliq Friday but have struggled with texting (was Winmo prior). Sometimes when I reply to a text I received it pulls a different number from my contact. Why wouldn't it automatically pull their mobile number since that is where you text? Is there a way to set a default for texting to ALWAYS use mobile number?

Also, in attaching files to text/email is there any way to really SEARCH for a file or are you just stuck with the directory that the software defaults to (which I assume is the SD card folders).

LOVE the Cliq so far!

I'm not sure if the Cliq comes with a Full manual but here is a link to the entire manual online.

The extend of contacts/text messaging in the manual - step 1 open contact, step 2 tap send text message. The end.

I have also found now that it appears when I delete an email on the handheld it deletes from the server - can't find a way to change that either.

thanks for your response so far, but it does not answer the question.Because when ever it is done it refuse to deliver the text messages.Please if you have a clue give me
