Actually another method that works much better for me is downloading GO LAUNCHER EX, or just GO LAUNCHER (the non extended version) - (Read about all of its functions on the market) but one of the nice functions is that you can HIDE ANY APP in your APP DRAWER. You just hit your opt button, select "hide apps" (All of your current apps including the bloatware apps that come with your phone are shown in a vertically scrolling list in alphabetical order). You just click on each putting a "check mark" beside each app you want gone and you're DONE. ALSO - you can re-arrange all of your apps in the drawer as well...ie; alphabetized, first to last downloaded, vice versa, most frequently used to least or vice versa, or... completely comstom, (one by one) in the order you want.
Now when you go back into your app drawer, you will see ONLY the apps you want shown.
***This is not the same as rooting your phone and ridding your phone of the apps, it simply HIDES them from VIEW. But it's nice to know that when you DO use your app drawer, you're only seeing the ones you USE fequently. For some, this may be a waste as they put all their apps that they DO USE on their home screens, but for others like myself who have a ton of apps, it comes in useful. NOTE: When you've got all your apps on your home screen(s) this does slow your phone down (and I'll use the word "considerably") as each time you go to your home screen your phone needs to re-load all of those icons to the screens.
HOWEVER: I STILL leave quite a few apps on my home screen(s) (and I've reduced that from 7 down to 2) but created folders so my phone has all the apps in those folders and does not get slowed down by the process of having to load all my icons representing the apps each time I go back to my home screen. I leave only a couple apps on there besides the folder(s) (1 on each home screen) that I use consistently throughout the day.
PS: If this question has been answered below somewhere after this post prior to my jabber, please forgive me as I did not take the time to read all the post/replies. First timer here and didn't want to forget the name of the app that enabled HIDING APPS while searching for a duplicate answer. That's what happens when you're a 40+ year old android user, lol. You'll see someday. But for most of you, I'll wager that a day will come when phones are virtual 3D images floating in the air and only dialogue takes place for all operations, lol. That'll be the day when all providers are monopolized by a company called Area52, lol.
Thanks for reading, hope this helps.
